The Parklands Hotel wireless network will cater for business travellers and others who require always on, high-speed broadband internet connections, without the problems and expense of dial-up access. With a wireless network guests can read their e-mail, surf the Internet or connect to their office VPN from their rooms and the hotel public areas without any wires or charges.

Setting the standard

The hotel now offers connections using IEEE 802.11a/b and g to ensure that we remain at the forefront of the technology, this enables connections speeds of up to 54Mbps. The hotel operates secure networks functioning with both WEP and WPA security. The system is made up of receivers connected to the Internet within the hotel any Wi-Fi enabled device will be able to pick up the signal and access the service within the building.

For those that do not have a Wi-Fi enabled device, standard LAN connection is available via 2 points in the public areas of the hotel, you will simply require a standard LAN connection cable and the relevant port on your device.
